about mrs. Hartman
Dear Students and Families,
Just like I am excited to meet each of you and wondering what you will be like, many of you probably have questions about me. My name is Mrs. Hartman. I am married to my wonderful husband, Sam. We live with our dog, Pumpkin, a Pomeranian, and our calico cat, Paisley. Two and a half years ago, we were blessed to welcome our first child to the family as well! I've had a wonderful time so far watching our son, Finn, grow and learn. After meeting me, you will get to hear A LOT about Finn and both of our fuzzy "kids."
This will be my ninth year teaching at Central York School District and my first year at North Hills. I spent my other eight years teaching fourth grade at Sinking Springs Elementary. I grew up in York and went to college at Penn State University. After that, I completed my Master's Degree through York College in Reading and am certified as a Reading Specialist. Most recently, I earned a certificate in Family Literacy through Penn State. Even after all of this, I am still continuing to take other classes to satisfy my love for learning.
Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. Usually, I am guilty of reading too many children's books. My absolute favorite series is the 39 Clues. Being in my classroom, you will probably hear a lot about those books too! I love a wide variety of books and the way that a good book can take you to another place or time. Hopefully by the end of the year, all of you will love reading just as much as I do!
Finally, probably the most important thing you should know about me is that I love teaching and learning. I love to make school a fun and exciting place to be and I am excited to start another amazing school year with each of you again this year!
