About mrs. Centeno
Dear Families and Students,
Just as I enjoy getting to know each of my students and their families every year, I'm sure you would like to know more about me. I am Mrs. Meghann Centeno. My amazing husband, Edgardo, and I live in York, Pennsylvania with his two sons, Ashlen and Sean, and my daughter, Aubreigh. We also have another, rather large, member of our family, Maze. He is our 175 lb. English Mastiff and, despite his size, is truly the baby of the family!
This year will be my second year teaching at North Hills Elementary. Prior to becoming a teacher, I spent nearly seven years working at a prison as a Counselor and Inmate Complaint Supervisor. At that point in my career, I decided I wanted to make a positive impact in the community. So, I continued my educational journey by earning my Elementary Education Certification from Temple University. While earning my Certification I had the wonderful experience of working with children who suffered from social, emotional, and behavioral needs. I truly enjoy my newfound profession and working with children of all abilities!
Fourth grade is a very exciting school year! As students make the transition from primary to intermediate grades, a lot of growth occurs in him/her both academically and socially. Students also begin to take a lot more responsibility for his/her own learning and choices in the classroom. Fourth grade is full of many new opportunities--new school, new friends, new teachers, new responsibilities, and new things to learn. Students are at a great age to ask questions, explore and take risks.
I absolutely love teaching and cannot wait to begin another wonderful year with each of you!
